Directors' Diary - Celebrating Collaborations

Posted by Tracey Baty on

We’ve been really lucky over the last 20+ years to be able to collaborate and work with some amazing people and companies.

The most relevant to this month is of course EATYORKSHIRE, the wonderful initiative started by Jennie, Marcelle and team at Yorkshire Rapeseed Oil which brings together a wide variety of food and drink businesses across Yorkshire during the month of March to encourage and promote local food, local drink and buying local.

Check out the info further down in the newsletter for more details about this campaign and how to enjoy it!

Did you know that our beer also features in other food offerings too? Iconic Scarborough business, Cooplands, uses Wold Top Bitter in their Steak & Ale pies (which are delicious!) and you’ll even find Marmalade Porter in Betty’s of Harrogate’s new Yorkshire Beer Bread.

More traditionally, we’ve worked with top chef, James Mackenzie, who runs East Yorkshire’s only Michelin starred establishment, the Pipe & Glass to help him create his own bespoke pub beer, ‘Innspire’ (available to buy from them directly) and collaborated with the team at SeaGrown who are based in Scarborough harbour to create a Yorkshire Seaweed beer, Hold Fast. The hardest part about this collaboration was not designing the beer recipe, but harvesting the wild kelp from the North Sea. Luckily the SeaGrown team is very capable in that respect!

Internationally, we’ve worked closely with the Italian MotoGP team, VR46 and their hospitality company to provide them a range of bespoke beers (inc low alc) for their race day hospitality. Quite surreal in some respects but very cool as well!
Are there any other companies you’d like to see us work with? Just drop us a line!

Cheers!
