Can’t quite believe we’re in 2025 already but there you go! We hope you’ve all had a wonderfully chilled and festive Christmas time and have lots of great things planned for the coming year. We’re raring to go here, with 12 new monthly specials and lots of other exciting plans in the pipeline. We're excited to share the news that we have brewed a new beer to encourage people to support independent breweries and pubs this month. The brewers have developed a fruity St. Clements ale to support ‘Tryanuary’. Water is crucial to brewing - it's 90% of the product and helps the flavour profile of the beer. Brewing water affects the beer in three ways: it influences the pH of the beer, which can change how the beer flavours are expressed to your palate; it provides “seasoning” from the sulphate-to-chloride ratio; and it can cause off-flavours from chlorine or contaminants.In general, brewing water should be clean and free of any odours, such as chlorine or pond smells.
