Glastonbury comes to Scarborough

As hordes of music fans enjoyed the annual Glastonbury festival last week, an enterprising family closer to home is planning its own event. Staxtonbury Family Music Festival takes place at Manor Farm, Staxton from Friday 2nd to Sunday 4th July and will showcase the finest local groups, singers and musicians including chart topping York band Morpheus Rising, Grand Urge, Bigme, Shamrockers, Blue Alibi, Bad Panda and Swagger. A Wold Newton microbrewery and an East Yorkshire festival organiser are celebrating the sell out success of the second?Moonbeams Wold Top Folk Festival last weekend (9/10 July). A combination of headline acts, great weather good food and beer and a campsite with stunning views made for an enjoyable weekend that attracted over 500 people.
