Our winter barley is already harvested - one of the earliest harvest starts we’ve had - thanks to the mid-July heatwave! The wheat and spring barley will be next, so watch this space! For the barley harvest, (both spring and winter), what we are looking for are ears of corn with lots of tightly packed grains. These should be firm to the touch but not so dry and hard...

Next year will see us celebrate 20 years of Wold Top, which is a pretty big milestone! New barrel-aged lager
Posted by Kate Balchin on

We've teamed up with our sister company, Spirit of Yorkshire Distillery to launch a third barrel-aged beer. Together, we have created Crest, a limited-edition lager that has been matured for over a year in casks that had previously contained Filey Bay Flagship whisky from Yorkshire’s first single malt whisky distillery. Of the launch, Brewery Manager, Alex Balchin said: “The lightness of Landmark lager, with its notes of honey and fresh herbs, takes the smooth and creamy vanilla notes from the Filey Bay Flagship casks to create a delicious, fresh tasting beer with aromas of green apples and a gentle, warming...
