Award-winning Wold Top Brewery will be one of a number of North Yorkshire businesses to support Scarborough?s second farmers? market next month.

The market, which launched in November, will be held at Scarborough College on Filey Road between 10am and 1pm on Sunday 1st February.

Brewery owner Gill Mellor is pleased that a local producers market has been established in Scarborough; ?Figures revealed this week show that sales of local produce are up 6% and initiatives like this can only help to support our rural economy.?

The brewery?s Sales Office Manager, Vicky Skinn, will be running the market and is delighted that such a professional market has been launched on the brewery?s doorstep.? ?This is great for local producers like us - we?re only 12 miles away from the college and it?s a great opportunity to talk to the local customers who have been instrumental in our our success over the last six years. ?

Vicky will be on hand to talk about, sample and sell the brewery?s award winning real ales, including the winner of the recent Deliciouslyorkshire award, Wold Top Bitter.

Made from the finest hops and home grown malting barley, coupled with the purest, chalk-filtered Wolds water, Wold Top Brewery real ales are brewed with passion from traditional recipes.? The range of seasonal specials and all year round ales are available through the website?www.woldtopbrewery.co.uk, or from farm shops, delis, hotels, pubs and off licences throughout Yorkshire and Lincolnshire.? Please call the brewery on 01723 892222 for stockists.

Scarborough College Farmers? Market has been established to enable local producers to sell home produced goods direct to the consumer, thus reducing food miles and facilitating a dialogue that connects consumers with the farming community that surrounds and serves them.?
