First to join us, back in July, was Julie Hayes who swapped a career as an editor in Dubai for the opportunity to follow her passion for beer with a role in our brew team.  When she’s not working, assistant brewer, Julie enjoys home brewing and tasting a wide variety of beers. Alto is our second limited edition beer for November

Our second limited edition cask special this month is Alto. It's a pale beer with a full body and big notes of floral lemon, citrus and soft fruits. Altocumulus clouds are small, mid-level layers or patches of clouds, called cloudlets, which most commonly exist in the shape of rounded clumps. Look out for it in your local whilst stocks last.

Our first limited edition cask ale for November is Big Sky. The Yorkshire Wolds are often referred to as Big Sky Country for the amazing skyscapes over the gently rolling countryside of the wolds and the coast. This is a tawny coloured ale with a clean hoppy finish, from the Hallertau Northern Brewer hops and a balanced maltiness from the home grown malts in the brew .- check it out in your local whilst stocks last!

Malting is a controlled germination that converts raw grain into malt. Malt is mainly used for brewing or whisky making, but can also be used to make malt vinegar or malt extract.  Various grains are used for malting; the most common are barley, sorghum, wheat and rye. Summit Strong lives up to its name at Everest Base Camp

Back in April, we were delighted to work with our friends at the Books by the Beach Festival to brew a Festival Beer (as we do every year) that is available at selected venues and is given to all of the performers as a memento of their visit to Scarborough. Every year, there is a competition to name the beer, based on the Festival's theme.
