Celebrate Coeliac Awareness Week with Gluten Free Beer

A Yorkshire brewery is inviting coeliacs to raise a glass to celebrate Coeliac UK's Awareness Week (16th - 22nd May.)
Wold Top Brewery brews Against the Grain, an award winning, full flavoured gluten free beer, from its farm based micro brewery high on the Yorkshire Wolds but sells it nationwide via its website www.woldtopbrewery.co.uk
Brewed with a lager malt and maize for head retention, Against the Grain is a bitter beer with a good head, refreshing bitterness and a citrus hop after taste. It has an ABV of 4.5% and its gluten content is certified to be well below the Codex standard of 20ppm. Every brew is tested for gluten by Neogen Europe Ltd.
It was commended at the Foods Matter Free From Food Awards 2010 where it was considered it to have a 'Floral aroma, nice hoppy palette', and be 'dry and delicate' and it won the gold medal in the speciality bottled beer category at the Society of Independent Brewers (SIBA) Northern awards in the same year.
Against the Grain costs £30 for 12 x 500ml bottles including mainland UK delivery. You can order online at www.woldtopbrewery.co.uk/mailorder.html or by calling the brewery on 01723 892222.
Coeliac UK is the leading charity working for people with coeliac disease and dermatitis herpetiformis (DH) and organises an annual awareness week to get people thinking about the gluten free diet from a fresh perspective and to help them to understand what it is like to live with coeliac disease.
Representatives from the brewery will be doing a tasting session of Against the Grain at Langlands Nurseries and Garden Centre in Shiptonthorpe, East Yorkshire between 11.30am and 2.30pm on 21st May.
