Farmers' Weekly Shortlist Success

A Yorkshire coast micro-brewery is celebrating after being shortlisted in a national farming award.

Wold Top Brewery, near Driffield in East Yorkshire is the only northern farm based business to reach the final three of Farmers? Weekly magazine?s competition to find its Diversification Farmer of the Year.

The award winning brewery is up against two Kent farmers, one who has diversified into a farm shop, restaurant, garden centre, workshops and offices and the other has developed offices and?a shop selling oils and foods made from farm-grown lavender.

Owners of Wold Top Brewery, Tom and Gill Mellor, now have to wait until an awards dinner at London?s Grosvenor House Hotel on 8th October to find out whether the North has beaten the South to take the prestigious title.
