The UK's Annual Celebration of Better Barbecuing, National BBQ Week, runs from 26th May to 1st June and heralds the start of a summer long celebration of alfresco eating, entertaining and barbecues.
For Yorkshire Coast micro-brewery Wold Top Brewery, bank holidays and BBQ's are synonymous with a significant increase in sales of its award-winning real ales.
Commenting on the 18th BBQ week, Gill Mellor from Wold Top Brewery said: "You can't beat a traditional, refreshing real ale when you're cooking and eating outdoors. Our usual best seller throughout the summer months is Wold Gold, an award winning blonde beer that chills down well and is enjoyed by men and women alike, but this year the anticipation surrounding the Grand DÃ ©part of the Tour de France has meant that our Tour inspired beer, Hello VÃ ©lo has proved equally popular."
Wold Gold is brewed where the Yorkshire Wolds meet the East Coast from traditional recipes using the best hops and home and Wolds grown malting barley coupled with the purest, chalk-filtered water. It's a satisfying, easy drinking beer with an ABV of 4.8% and has a soft, fruity flavour with a hint of spice whilst Hello VÃ ©lo has an ABV of 4.2% and is a sparkling crisp ale with an earthy spiciness and honeyed marmalade overtone.
